As part of the effort to provide on-going exposure and discussion platforms for its members, TiE Bangalore Chapter has scheduled a member meeting that will focus on building teams. As is well known, one of the key ingredients of entrepreneurial success is to conceptualise and bring together a well-rounded team that can maximise the probability of success. Many times, one encounters start-up teams that are skewed towards one area, mostly either technology or marketing.

Entrepreneurs are confounded with the need to know the Whys as well as the Hows of conceptualising a well-rounded team as well as finding, selecting and recruiting them.

To discuss the importance of team building and team dynamics, TiE Bangalore has lined up an eminent panel of speakers from a cross-section of the industry:


Moderator: Mr. Subroto Bagchi, Gardener, MindTree

Subroto Bagchi is best known for co-founding MindTree in 1999 where he started as the Chief Operating Officer. MindTree is among India's most admired companies across industries. In 2008, Bagchi took on the role of Gardener at MindTree.

In this new role, Bagchi spends one-on-one time with the Top-100 leaders at MindTree on their 'personal-professional' issues to expand leadership capacity and build readiness for taking MindTree into the
billion-dollar league. In addition, Bagchi works at the grassroots by foster making himself available to its 45 Communities of Practice that organizational learning, innovation and volunteerism within the organization.

He has written extensively in leading newspapers and magazines, and spoken at industry platforms and educational institutions the world over. His Businessworld column - Arbor Mentis - and Times of India column - Times of Mind - were widely read and discussed. Many of these are archived at www.mindtree.com/subrotobagchi.

His first book, The High Performance Entrepreneur was released in 2006 as a Penguin Portfolio publication to great critical acclaim. His second book, Go Kiss the World was released in 2008 as a Penguin Portfolio. Mark Tully hailed it as "a remarkable story of courage, integrity and enterprise".



Mr. Mohinish Sinha, President, iDiscoveri

An MBA from XLRI, Mohinish has over 15 years of experience in people and organisation transformation. He has worked extensively in building leadership capability within organisations, including working as coach to senior managment professionals. He also serves as an Expert Advisor for Global Virtual Workforce for The Human Capital Institute, USA.

He is currently the President of iDiscoveri, an organization that is a pioneer in the area of learning in schools and organizations. He has
designed and implemented people and change strategies addressing organizations in sectors as diverse as oil and gas, financial services and IT / ITES, across diverse geographies of India, Middle-East, Africa & South East Asia and across various stages of their life cycle including M&As and start-ups.

Prior to idiscoveri, Mohinish was Head- People and Change consulting practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers(PwC) in India. Prior to that he has worked with Ernst & Young, Andersen, Citicorp Info Tech (now i-flex) and Cadburys. He writes a fortnightly column on Leadership in Times Ascent.




Mr. Mohit Bhatnagar, Operating Partner, Sequoia Capital

Mohit is an Operating Partner with Sequoia Capital India. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital, Mohit served as the Senior Vice President - Value Added Services & Alliances at India's leading telecom company, Bharti Cellular Ltd. At Bharti, his group was responsible for significantly growing the VAS P&L by launching successful innovations in electronic recharging, mobile entertainment, interactive media, mobile email and mobile commerce.

Prior to Bharti, Mohit co-founded Brightpod, a wireless solutions enterprise, by orchestrating a spin off from Ericsson. Earlier in his career he held senior leadership positions at Ericsson in Sales, Marketing and Strategy based in North America, Taiwan & the Philippines. He received an MBA with distinction from UNC - Chapel Hill and an MSEE in Fiber Optics & Telecom from Virginia Tech.
